What I'm Doing Here

Friends and family think I'm a health-nut. I'd like to be, and I try to be. But sometimes I find myself in want of food that falls shy of health-nut standards. Sometimes I find myself in need of this food, like when the only thing open is 7-11 and I'm in the middle of making a dish for a potluck, missing a key ingredient!

So, here is my attempt to log what I've decided are the best choices on the grid... the best of the worst. My criteria are randomly rhythmic; I might avoid a certain substance one time, but choose it another time. It's all about deciding which evil to eat, which one is less. Have fun keeping up!

I've read ingredient lists since I was a little girl looking at the breakfast cereal box (ask my Mom!) I've been both annoyed and amazed at how scientific the words have become over the years. Sometimes I cannot pronounce most of the ingredients, and I'm pretty sure my reading ability is better than when I was 7!

The words keep getting longer, and they seem to be creeping into everything outside of health-food stores and specialty organic farms. Just like when I was little, I'm curious about what is in the food I eat. So, I try to keep up with what the ingredients are, why they're added, and which ones are the worst for your body.

And sometimes I eat it anyway. There. I did it. It's not so bad, confessing! :-)
